Jonah has been spewing hilarities pretty frequently these days. His cobbled up little sentences keep us laughing and I continue to be amazed by his vocabulary (and a little nervous--I mean, the entire church nursery doesn't need to know everything that is said in the confines of our home...).
Thatcher woke up and was crying. "I will go to Fatch, mom. You stay here. I will go and I will say 'Ssshhhh. Jonah's here.'"
Often he finds something he thinks you might want and brings it to you with a generous "Welcome". I suppose he's expecting a 'thank-you' even though you really didn't want the the half roll of unrolled toliet paper...
I asked him if he wanted to got potty on the big potty. He replied: "Yeah, sure. And I'll have Thomas underwear." (the first part is a lie. he won't go near the thing. I'll be happy if I can get his stubborn little self potty trained by the time he's 4--oh, and I'm happy to oblige the underwear part should we get to that point).
He names (or ask the name of) everything. William and Sam are the pirates of his ship and I am currently the cute little blonde from the duplo grocery set. Oh, and Thatcher is the zoo keeper.
Often conversations look like this with my little wheel and dealer: "No more TV." "How about a little bit?" "No." "Okay, later, right mom? Later?" (and if you say "sure, later" he'll remember. Like reminds you right before he goes to bed and wakes up asking for it).
His denim leg coverings? "Janes." Yeah, I don't know either. But he won't stand to be corrected. I mean, I guess every two year old should have a little southern influence in their vocabulary. Speaking of refusing to be corrected, the donkey is a horse, the angels in the Christmas book are kids, and the pigeons are birds. End. of. discussion.
And for some reason, upstairs, downstairs, etc...they're all "backstairs." (short for "back up/down stairs"??) Is it bad that we've just giving in and started using it too?
And though this one isn't talking yet, he is making us smile.
(please note: 1. the giraffe is clearly his best friend these days 2. jonah crawling under the table at the end--if he's in trouble, avoiding bedtime, or just a little bored, that's his new favorite place.)

Again, love the way you write! too funny. The growing vocab is pretty great at this stage...and I don't think you should correct:)
